Ligue 1: "I take responsibility for CJ's expulsion," admits Balerdi

The OM captain took responsibility for his error which led to the sending off of his teammate CJ Egan-Riley this Sunday during the defeat in Lyon (1-0).

OM captain Leonardo Balerdi acknowledged on Sunday that the defeat conceded against Lyon (1-0) was "hard on the head" and invited his teammates to "start again" .

"Yes, it's very hard. We came to get the three points and we made this mistake. I take responsibility for CJ's sending off," Balerdi said of his England teammate CJ Egan-Riley's exclusion. "It's a defeat, so it's hard. For the dressing room, it's hard. Now we have the break. We have to reflect on what we did wrong and we have to start again. But today, it's very hard," added the Argentine.

"Now we have to calm down because a defeat like that is very hard on the mind. We have a long way to go and we have to keep going," Balerdi added. OM have been beaten in two of the first three matches and are only 10th in the league.
